This also seems to be the cause of some discoloration to the brass dial around the edge from 9 to 12 as well as some spots. I wound this clock approximately six months ago, and it was keeping perfect time. This clock is in very good aesthetic condition, with no damage to the glass. This item is heavy and well-made, and weighs in excess of five pounds. Of course if you activate the bells you get them every 30 minutes as designed. Also so quiet you don't hear them ticking like some clocks. It measures approximately 5-3/4" in diameter(measured from back mounting area) and comes with key(shown) Glass is in great shape.
